About the Role

We are seeking a Functional Tester to join a Quality Assurance team supporting Fannie Mae . This role focuses on borrower validation testing , ensuring that applications, data, and workflows used to verify borrower information are accurate, secure, and reliable.

Responsibilities

• Execute functional, regression, integration, and end-to-end testing for borrower validation systems.
• Test workflows involving income, credit, employment, and identity verification .
• Create and execute detailed test cases and scenarios based on business and technical requirements.
• Identify, document, and track defects with clear steps to reproduce using Jira or similar tools .
• Work closely with developers, business analysts, and product owners to understand requirements and develop comprehensive testing strategies.
• Validate business rules and ensure application functionality aligns with established Fannie Mae guidelines and regulatory requirements .
• Create, manage, and validate backend test data to support loan origination and borrower verification testing.
• Verify data flows and integrations across applications and systems.
• Support regression testing following application enhancements, fixes, and releases.

Qualifications

• Experience in functional software testing , preferably within financial services, mortgage, lending, or fintech.
• Strong understanding of test planning, test case development, execution, and defect management .
• Experience with Jira or similar defect tracking tools.
• Experience testing data-driven applications and backend processes .
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into effective test scenarios.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
• Experience with SQL/database validation is a plus.
• Mortgage, loan origination, or borrower verification experience is highly desirable.
